5 mins with the Croft
November 26th, 2008 H ManMutiny Bikes rider Niki Croft has been keeping the blood running warm in the evenings by sessioning the new seventies ramp extension. I was not up to much one night so we shot a few photos on a chilled night (chilled… oh im too good with double meaning words) read on to check the photos and quickphire questions…
Yo Niki how you doing? Whats with the new extension to the Seventies mini? Who put that together?
Yo, im good as always, its got a landing on the back of the mini ramp the leads upto a 9ft quarter. Everyone did their bit ya know, Joe and Mad Jon on the transitions, me and Roger on production getting it rideable and screwing layers down, Aggie, Stu Dawkins, Charlie Jobling, Standivan and even you contributed, thanks to everyone that helped out, fully appreciated!
Niki chilling with a whip out the 9ft new bit
| How many screws, bits of 2×4 and bottles of beer do you reckon were consumed in the building of the new bit?
Errrm 5-7 boxes of screws, don’t even know about 2×4, couldn’t care i just wanted to get it done and fucking ride!!! Oh around 20 cans/bottles o’ beer. What do you think about the ‘jumpbox to no flat to 9ft quarter’ now that its been here a week or two? It seems like everyone is adapting well… I fucking love it, its rad, so many more lines. The no flat was a bit touch and go really to start with, it keeps you on your toes haha but now everyone has got used to it, it aint an issue just pure simple fun!! |

Kick out to late table
| Even in a relaxed session some of your best stuff comes out, do you always push yourself no matter what the occasion?
I don’t know really…. i just get so excited when riding its hard to calm down. As soon as i see a smile on someone’s face when riding that ramp it becomes really satisfying knowing that the hard work paid off and that just gets me pumped to ride, even at lunch when your trying to 3 it to the deck! BMX is the best ya can’t knock it! |
Can you tell us anything about your setup that your riding at the moment?
Well… ive currently got something in the works with Mutiny, hopefully early next year we shall be seeing me own frame. You will either love it or hate it, if you do hate it then you don’t need to worry.
