The title is somewhat inspired by the classic hit (Partridge voice engaged..) by the Pet Shop Boys – West End Girls, now we ain’t a bunch of girls but Mouse was bitch slapping himself today at the premise of hoping onto a curved wall bench ride so hmm maybe. Anywho lets get onto the main entertainment that is Sunday Sessions this week brought to you in full Technicolor, HD2000, World Wide Web Ready GIFS… Read more

Well im glad thats out the way, an over complicated intro to a fun weekend riding in the Team Valley area of Gateshead. Even when people say there isn’t anything to ride there, what they actually mean is that its pretty hard to find things when hit with the daunting task of a giant industrial estate and faceless corporation buildings but amongst all the crap there are gems, hidden places of beauty or in geek terms Easter Eggs (Microsoft Office ’97 XL for those old enough to remember Office 1997). Last weekend Olly and I hit up our old home town of South Shields to meet up with Marc Bell and Jamie Whitts to have a chilled ride, see some new spots that are under development and to ride some places we rode many years ago. Northern Child who jumped the Great Wall of China came out for all of an hour before he couldn’t stand the thought of his car not being parked near enough and disappeared.. no doubt back off to China to eye up a bigger trick over said wall. The title suggests that Toon Fools could be making a come back? Hmm dunno about that just yet but one thing is for sure and thats that a good chunk of the North was hitting up spots in the east-end of Newcastle today and for those who missed out here’s the shinfo.. Read more →
Don’t call this a come back by any means but could this be the rebirth, the V11 (or 12, can’t remember what we were un to last..) of streetphire.co.uk? Who cares but what I do care about is seeing a good edit now and again and James Newrick has came through with the goods. I know he’d been filming for quite a while and I had started to wonder how many months we’d be waiting to see something drop and then out of no where I saw this on the net this morning and it’s sick!
Putting together Part I of a possible multi-part series of web edits, Newrick has released Hit the North, a 10 minute edit of fast riding with smooth Jazz vibes, hitting up all types of street across the UK and Europe with solid appearances from The Count, Cookie, Pete Greaves, Newrick himself and then a whole shit load of others including; Clarky, Olly Olsen, Tim Evans, Adam Peterson, Conor Bedford, Leo McKenna, Dan Crossley, Richie Goff, Marv, Tom Sanders, The Roops, Wozzy, David Maughan, Dchum, Tom Bright, Connor Worthington, Marty Meenaghan, Mouse and Tom Kilcoyne (my fingers are starting to bleed..)
Nuff reading, start watching and spread the word.

Miles Davis – Nuit Sur Les Champs-Élysées
Cannonball Adderley Quintet – Tensity

It all went down last night, Newrick’s Super Monaco, T2S and the NSFYC2 vid all dropped on the big screen at the Companions Social Club up in Newcastle. People from around the UK had popped up for the party, the place was full, the pints were a unbelievable £2.40 hence lots of sore heads the next day and the venue couldn’t have been better for what was about to go down. Now I don’t know when Newrick’s video will be hitting the net or VHS or whatever fancy format these kids love to release things on these days but when it does become available it’s worth the watch. It’s got a real mix tape feel, it’s short and sweet, lots of good riding packed into 10-15 min edit, featuring some great riding from our locals; Olly Olsen, Cookie, The Count and of course Mr Newrick with a few guest appearances from Newrick’s mates from around the UK.
Both the T2S edit and Super Monaco had lots of old references to NSF days gone by with clips from The Unknown and NSF2 which kept everyone cheering from start to finish. Cookie’s T2S had a sick intro/first section and rolled out for about 10 minutes, can’t wait to see it again on the net when its out.
FInally and also first up last night was the NSFYC offering “NSFYC2” (aptly named) featuring all the youth from around the Toon and also featuring the Gateshead Wheelie Crew (GWC) who are currently having a Facebook off with the YC to see who is bigger and badder. Both of them in my eyes ruled and for your viewing pleasure and only one month late is the NSFYC2 vid.. enjoy!
It’s 6pm and if you aren’t up here with us at the Cycle Hub in Newcastle for the Deadline premiere then you’re probably at home reading this, well it’s our first edit that we think is web worthy in around 6 or more years.. Lets hope it’s a good one eh? Featuring Olly Olsen, Marc Bell, Alex Green, Luke “Mouse” Clouston, Harry Dyson, James Newrick, Chris “The Count” Lee, Martin “Cookie” Cook, Tom Bright, Pete Greaves and Jordan Hildreth in and around Newcastle’s Wasteland and streets, no park.

Oh what a good end to a long day at work. This T2S edit is worth half an hour of anyones time, you will not be disappointed. With riding from Cookie, The Count, Olly Olsen, Newrick, Pete ‘Chaffy’ Greaves, Joe Cox, Dan Cox, Marv, Scott Ditchburn, Dub Jack, Bengo, Benny L, Mossy, Campo and a whole load more that I can’t remember right now. Get ya fill of street and cast your eyes over this.
