Being on the road working for the past 4 weeks on movies and documentaries is taking it out of me and not being able to find time to ride is doing my nut in however the guys up’t North back at home are still out there and have been clocking some golden moments at the Wastey with the king of golden tracksuits Harry Dyson including riding from Pete Greaves and Jamie Curry. Check out the edit with music biting track by Dizzee Rascal which featured originally on Marv’s section of Joe Cox’s Voices. EIther way its a fun edit and makes me want to watch Voices again which the next post will be about said edit 🙂

The Deadline DVD is finally here and if you’ve managed to hold off watching it on the web then get yourself along to he official North East premiere down at the Cycle Hub on the Newcastle Quayside. It’s right opposite the Tyne Bar which is where we’ve done the previous videos but as the weather is getting colder I thought it would be a treat to have it inside. Beers will be on sale at the bar along with other refreshments, the Hub is looking after that, the DVD will also be available to buy for £12 from yours truly so grab hold of me if you want to get yourself a copy.

Tim Evans and Tom Bright Split Edit

/

October 27, 2013

/ H Man

I got a call from “around the world” traveller Tom Bright this evening saying him and Tim Evans had done a 50/50 split edit and asking did I want it for an exclusive on streetphire. Well of course I dropped everything I was doing and headed over to TB’s to watch the edit. Tim and Tom have been putting in a little work over the recent dryer days filming on the GoPro Black and iPhone to get this done, the footage looks mint and the riding is wicked too. Hats off to the guys, now it’s time to sit back and enjoy 🙂

Oh and Happy Birthday Tim, it’s the big 21 for him today!!

Cal Hinshaw: 30 minutes with Brodie Scott

/

September 7, 2013

/ H Man

Cal Hinshaw sent us this short edit of his mate Brodie Scott riding Exi Park in Toon. All of it was filmed in 30 minutes before school which is pretty impressive given that us old guys can spend weeks filming to get the same amount of footy 😛 I jest, it’s not bad and it only lasts just over a minute and a half so give it a watch.

Throwback Thursday: Buff House 2.0

/

February 14, 2013

/ H Man

Ah memories, good times, crazy parties and embarrassing photos where people say “did I used to look like that?”. This was Buff House two point ohhh back when DFTU had started, NSF 3 was getting filmed for, BuFF Zine was getting printed and road trips were a-plenty. See if you can recognise anyone in the photo, it was taken on 2nd October 2004 at Holmslice Place in NE6, that was some time ago. Steve had just finished brewing the Vinnie Sammon brew and beer bongs were on the menu for that night, I can’t remember what we were doing that night, probably going out in town as the NE6 massiv or something. God knows…

Around the time that this photo was taken Newrick and Carmine went about making the epic promo for NSF 3, check it out below:

The Make: Vampires in the Snow

/

February 8, 2013

/ H Man

Well it’s been just over a week since the snow melted up here in Newcastle but we are now clear of it and the riding street riding has been getting done once more. Back in 2010 we had loads of snow around Christmas time, normally this would deter most BMXers from attempting to get out of bed let alone take advantage of the snow. However the one and only Chris “The Count” Lee and crew decided this could be a great opportunity to ride what normally wouldn’t be a spot. Over in Heaton Park there was a set of stairs that had been transformed into a flat bank and at the bottom we built a kicker over the fence to make it possible to ride. Below you can see one of the photos we got from the escapades, of course the run out was nigh on impossible to roll away from so when he landed it was a case of either stopping dead on the spot or being chucked over the bars..
