This is pretty epic, Jason started a Kickstarter campaign back in March to attempt to raise cash to do a BMX project that involved ramps, ships and water.. a kind of odd proposal you may think and so did many others possibly as the Kickstarted failed to get anywhere near his £15,000 target. HOWEVER Jason must have got in touch with the right people who were willing to take a punt at this and below is the finished product. Mike King was the man behind the camera, Jason doing it for GT was the mad man in front of the camera and hats off to The Professional Diving Academy (PDA) in Dunoon, Scotland and Dewalt?!? for backing this project. Check it out over breakfast and enjoy.
This little gem popped up on my news feed earlier today and I couldn’t help but post it! Basically what it says on the tin, it’s a summer edit made by Ross Dunbar featuring a long list of riders such as; Jason Phelan, Alex Donnachie, Zander Rourke, Hector Spencer-Wood, Kriss Kyle, Drew Bezanson, Gregg Bartlett and of course Ross Dunbar.
Of Monsters And Men – Mountain Sound
Jason Phelan and chums have just dropped there BCN edit from a couple of weeks back. Featuring at least Liam Oakes, Jason Phelan, Irish Ben, the Bruisers and loads more that I don’t know. Banging tricks, not so banging slams and a pretty damn shit hot uprail, uprail at the end by Mr Phelan that’ll make your mouth water…
Dropkick Murphys – The Boys Are Back
Cheers to Ali Hutchinson for bringing this to my attention, I just watched this edit by Will Evans of Jason Phelan for something called “Sosh Urban Motion 2” which I have no idea what that is about but I do know that the whole edit was filmed on a smartphone. Will’s super dialled editing skills and use of the glide cam will probably mean that most people couldn’t really tell that it was filmed on something which is made for making phone calls and cheeky selfies on instagram..
Enjoy the next two minutes
This is a great little documentary about WTP rider Jason Phelan; he tells you a little about how he got into riding, his sponsorship, what he’s up to right now and how it felt scoring his first cover of a magazine. It’s worth sitting back with a cuppa and having a watch!
By the looks of it Jason has been doing a bit of travelling already, only two months in to 2013 and he’s been half way round the world to Asia. It wasn’t all plane sailing however, during his “best trip of his life” he managed to break his nose, get bit by some potentially rabid monkey and get severe food poisoning landing himself a short stay in hospital. Even though all these things happened it still was one hell of an awesome trip he says and to me this is truly an inspirational video to make you want to go out there and travel. Start saving your pennies peeps.
Of Monsters And Men – Dirty Paws
Erm, I don’t know what to say about this because my jaw is still flapping about somewhere on the carpet. You know that front cover Jason Phelan just scored on Ride UK, well the motion picture version was captured in this here video, it’s crazy, I mean, f**king crazy! Saying that the whole video is, watch Pete Sawyer and Jason shred in Malaga for a week in the sun while we all freeze our arses off in the UK. Nicely put together by Peter Adams using a real to real tape recorder with some snazzy effects.
Entrance – Grim Reaper Blues
In my opinion the only nightmareish thing about this video has to be the music that kicks in after about a minute, its dog shit but apart from that the riding is, as per usual, sick. Featuring Kriss Kyle, Alex Donnachie and Jason Phelan. Thanks to RideUK for the heads up on this one, they also mentioned that Unit 23 got the “Best Skatepark” award at the readers awards.. totes amaz balls.
Peter Adam went up to visit Jason Phelan who’s currently living at Unit 23, this probably explains why Jason has nearly every line dialled in there. If you haven’t had a chance to ride the new ‘Hall 1’ yet then its about time you started planning a road trip up to Glasgow to shred that place.
Tame Impala – Half Full Glass Of Wine
