Sunday Sessions: Meet up in the Park
The photos have been edit, sorted and counted and the results are in, who will be the winner, what will be said, tune in and read on to see how this weekends Sunday Session went down at the Pump Track over in Tynemouth.
The weekend before this one we actually sorted out where we were gonna ride in advance! No night before drunk text messages, saying “yeah im up for riding for sure but where we riding and who’s coming out?” this is about 4-6 hours before a massive hangover kicks in the next day but stay positive, sometimes we get dealt the good hand of the Beer Gods.
Talking about Beer Gods, both the people who love to drink it and the people who love to make it, Team Goth (Olly Olsen, The Count and Daz E), rolled up to the meet up point of todays excursion which was Tynemouth’s Northumberland Park Pump Track. Just before the cold and dark forces were about to make tree’s wither away the cool and sunny dispersion crew arrived to balance the worlds, welcome Pete, Tom Big Wheels and Tom “dark” Bright.
Just before the guys started arriving and the crew numbers got massive Marc “50 Shades” Bell, Mouse and I had met up with locals Luke Thorpe, Will and Ryan Lilburn. They were going on a mission later that day to ride some spot about 45 minutes drive away to get some clips for a video Ryan is working on at the moment. However Will decided to make the decision to leave the house with no chain on his BMX which meant that after saying “how do” they had to head off and get one. Luke decided to stay and started riding the berms a bit different busting out alley-oops and nearly taking it on one of them.. but apart from that maximum fun was about to be had.
Before we knew it we’d pretty much taken over the pump track and the race to see who could do the quickest lap for a potential free pint was underway. Of course not many people can beet the machine that is Daz E as he has more flow than a Pentel N50 but when you get to the last bit of the track there’s this little step up jump that everyone seemed to work well with and the nibs and jibs started happening.

Im not going to lie there’s not a lot that can be said about this spot other than we all agreed that its a perfect warm up place to meet, lots of flow, good layout, smooth and if you’re up for it there’s a potential boost over a fence at the bottom of the run but you’ve got to be careful of the cheese wire that could take your heed off but that’s another trick for another day. Definitely worth hitting up and since Scott Thompson asked where is it here’s a link on Google Maps for ya!
So carrying on with the photos here’s some more for you in a nice gallery layout

After a long session at the pump track I switched the camera into video mode and stopped taking the snaps while we session’d the law courts curved wall and the flat bank spot round the corner. We clocked some good footy before hitting up the local Greggs for our weekly pasty and pastry intake.. standard.
Now that’s pretty much a wrap on the visuals for this Sunday Session but just before we depart for another couple of days of the weekly grind i’ll leave you with this pic of The Count busting out a bank to wall-ride round at North Shields Metty!
Time for bed as its 3.34am, night all!
