It has been just over a week since the Northeast BMX BBQ Jam went down at Five Bridges and the Wasteland, you can read the article and look and some pics right here but if you’ve been waiting for the edit to drop of the goings on from the day then Ryan Lilburn has just came up with the goods, literally 15 minutes ago the video was uploaded to YouTube and here it is.
The Five Bridges bit was because of our lovely UK weather we have but then once it cleared up everyone moved onto the Wasteland Jam where some pretty mental stuff went down. Good riding, good session was had, great memories and a great edit by the man, go check out his site for some pics and more about what he does right here > www.ryanlilburn.com/nclbmxjam
Kool & The Gang – Hollywood Swinging
Max Romeo – Chase The Devil
A Tribe Called Quest – Can I Kick It?
I saw this clip last night on Teddy’s Instagram and had completely missed the boat on the drop of this BMXFU edit called LDN/6IX/NY which features a whole load of guys we’ve rode with and even some old streetphire message board lurkers.. It’s too much of a good edit not to watch.
Filmed and edited by Scott Barker (he’s got clips too) featuring riding from: Lloyd Wright, Micheal Morgan, Akin Hercules, Martin Cookie, Loz Taylor, Daniel Niles, Tom Sanders, Timeel Lewis, Chris Cadot, Jordan Krupa, Trent Barker and Lee Dennis
Foreign Beggars & Alix Perez Feat. Riko Dan – Deng
Skepta – Back Then
Jamie XX Feat. Young Thug & Popcaan – I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)
It’s been a productive morning so far with work but then I was browsing the old interweb and saw this banger of an edit from Lewis Cunningham. He’s a young dude, only 13 and already on Animal Bikes, when you see him riding you’ll understand why he might just break the internet better than Kim Kar-what ever her name was…
It’s been far too long since we posted up something from my old crew down Hastings and the South Coast BMX boys. Here’s their latest offering where the guys hit up The Source Skatepark (which I totally need to hit up soon) check out the visuals blud..
Skepta – Man (gang)
Electric Citizen – Beggar’s Need
A one for the calendar, notification service.. reminder on phone, tell a friend.. I don’t know but one thing I do know is the following word from Metal le Pegs, keep your eyes peeled for the update of location closer to the time:
“Fed up of being lonely, sad, and depressed about riding with boring mates all the time? Need some hot new tricks to show your family and friends? Want to be the next big thing? Well, come along to the Metal Pegs BMX Street Jam in North East London on Saturday 14th May. Meet up is at 12pm. Lots of interesting and fashionable BMX riders are going to be riding around the streets, talking, and having fun together, and showcasing some of the newest, hottest BMX Street riding manoeuvres out there currently. Top Corporate Talent Spotters will be present to judge your ability, dexterity, and style. To miss it would be bad form. Totally unrad. The exact location for the meet up will be publicised a few days before, so make sure to look back here at your trusty street riding group companion to find out more information!”
Jonny Linsley sent through some more photos from his archives, this time not just the sick wall ride shots with DChum and Scott Thompson but a few more guys from the Sunderland scene. Ranging from 2006 to 2015 enjoy a few visual delights with a good cup of tea/coffee/beer (if thats your thing, you may still be out partying..) and expect more in the future from Jonny and the Sunderland guys as they venture further afield into unknown territories..
For those of you who fought the rain, kept the spirits high and left the house today to join in on at the jam it was pretty damn good. Amazing turn out, about 80+ people tuned in and it started at Five Bridges because we all know how much the English weather loves to flip out now and again.. Preparation had been going for the days and weeks leading up to the jam by the NSFYC and crew, building new lines at the Wastey, getting the place cleaned right up and ready for today and then it rained hard over night but the guys left Bridges early to sweep up the puddles and before you knew it the session was on. Last weekend Olly and I hit up our old home town of South Shields to meet up with Marc Bell and Jamie Whitts to have a chilled ride, see some new spots that are under development and to ride some places we rode many years ago. Northern Child who jumped the Great Wall of China came out for all of an hour before he couldn’t stand the thought of his car not being parked near enough and disappeared.. no doubt back off to China to eye up a bigger trick over said wall.
