Throwback Thursday: Barcelona 2005
I loved this photo from the second we were all talking about taking it. Bobby (the guy on the bike) was up for carving over the door, at the time this hadn’t been documented much, we’d heard that some locals may have done it and that some who tried it ended up grating their face off as they lost speed at the top and ended up sliding down the metal gate (like a grater and cheese). We also wanted to get everyone in the photo so the lads scaled the brick work and perched themselves over the top like a bunch of scooter kids at the skatepark, legs hanging over the top of the tranny. Anyway’s Bobby had been practicing the run up further down the road where he was trying to work out if he could get the speed and cut in at the right angle to get the whole gate carved without slipping out or going too far and hitting the other gate (out of the picture on the left). Turns out he got all his calculations sorted and blasted it first time, no doubt his heart was in his mouth as he sped towards it in the near on dark surroundings before a massive flash went off in his eyes.
This ended up being the opening photo in our Ride UK write up about the trip. I’m going to upload that at a later date for you all to have a laugh at. Some great photos were taken on that trip and some class stories. Till next time, in a bit..
