My good friend James Smith heard the news that UK Flatland legend James White was getting hooked up on S&M Bikes so he made the journey across London to find a dry, flat spot in late December to film a little edit with Mr White. They ran into a couple of obstacles like the wind, punctures and James White having a bit of an off day but I think teamed up with Johnny Cash for the music, it makes this video all that much better.
Johnny Cash – Hurt
For all the tech nerds out there, the filming is great once the song kicks off, the use of the jib with the build of the music was what made it for me. Here’s the list of gear used:
Canon 5Dmk3 // Canon 7D // 50mm 1.2F // 24-70mm 2.8F // 8-15mm 4F
I nearly missed this one, luckily the good fellows at BSD had liked it on vimeo and my stream had included it. Modern technology eh? Who’d of thunk it..
It’s coming to the end of 2012 and there has been a few great year end edits, this is also one of the great ones. It’s got Alex Donnachie and Kane Hennessy who I recognise and a few more of the FTLTY team… go watch!
Purity Ring – Fineshrine
Imagine Dragons – Round & Round
You know when you hear people talking about “where’s the best place to escape to for winter” you don’t normally think of Scotland being the first answer, however this winter has proven that Scotland is the very place to be. It seems like Scotland just has the best parks on offer at the moment, Unit 23 for example, won “UK Park of the Year” award at the recent Ride UK Awards and every decent edit over the last month has featured Unit 23, EK and Transgression.
Zeyad from Archtype BMX dropped us a message this morning over on our Facebook page with this sweet edit from the lads doing a mini Scotland road trip, well worth the watch, it features Ben Basford, Brad, Pants and Sketch.
From Monuments to Masses – To Z [Repeat] (65 days of static remix)
Even though it’s been up a month it’s only had like 650 views and I think it deserves some more viewing! This is Premier’s 10th Mixtape and they always come out pretty decent, with riding from loads of the guys South of the Watford Gap this will keep you entertained for a sweet two and a half minutes. Then you can head over to Ben’s store to see what offers they have on > http://www.premierbmxstore.com/
Jehst – Move Back
I saw this video by Red Bull over on the Dig site last week of Russian rider Vasya Lukyanenko shredding the shit out of some old satellite dishes at a Ukrainian Space Centre. First off I was like “thats too amazing” and then I was like “hmm Red Bull and there billions” cause to be honest if they want something they probably just flash enough cash in the right direction and they get it. Kind of takes the fun out of trying to find amazing spots and not getting caught riding them but this is sick non the less.
Anyways roll on a week later and Maxim Donchik has released a behind the scenes video from the project, it’s awesome.
It looks like “the best of” and “unseen footage” is quite popular tonight with Pete Greaves’ edit dropping just hours ago and now this awesome edit from FFWDBMX. Combining loads of new and used footy from all of Mike King’s adventures over the past year. It has some seriously good footage from loads of events and road trips, the only bad thing is the dog shit music 😛
Afroman – Jumped Up G’d Up
The Make have just dropped this Pika Rodriguez edit made by Chris Bouquet flowing round the park and streets of Tenerife. It makes for great late night watching…
Pete’s just dropped this video on his vimeo account a few days ago, edited by Jo Parry, it features loads of unused clips and second angles from the back catalogue of Pete Greaves footy that he clocks on a weekly basis. It’s kind of like the best of album of 2005-2010 but totally awesome. Expect lots of fakie tricks, decades and spots that dont exist any more.
Richard Hawley – Down In The Woods
Remember the Arl day peg sesh? These Jersey boys loved it so much they decided to name their crew Team SAF (Team Street As Fuck… The NSF Youth Crew were also calling themselves Team SAF for a while. Coincidence? Yes, almost certainly). Now they’ve done their second full length video. I like it a lot… loads of good riding on sketchy set ups on the wrong side of town (everywhere they ride looks like locations from The Wire). Also, Jesse Susicki (the original Ledgetech) has a section.
